The Merge VR headset works with most of the smartphones on the market, and it has a singular look: made of foam and it’s purple. It might have you thinking, it’s more of a toy, and you might not take it into consideration than similarly priced goggles. But hold on, it includes pleasant surprises.

The edges feel very soft and it adapts quite comfortably to your face. It has polyurethane foam, which is a big plus. Most of virtual reality headsets doesn’t have it. Especially if you are not paying attention to your VR goggles, you might drop them. This being not uncommon. You might find it a bit cheap, but it is quite practical.

The foam has its setbacks. If your phone overheats – it happens during a Virtual Reality session.

As for its weight, the Merge VR headset is heavier in comparison to other Virtual Reality headsets – this may be an issue if you “over-use” it, in long VR gaming sessions. Or… if you’re going to watch VR porn videos for hours, you’ll find out that it has a weight burden.

Conclusion

The Merge VR is actually nice, don’t let the toy-like design / appearance fool you. It’s not the Gear VR or Oculus Rift; but for recreational use, you cannot find anything else better than the Merge Virtual Reality headset. You have a good price range, and it is more than durable than the other cardboards or even the plastic goggles. You will feel more relaxed thanks to the loose straps. It’s very resistant and you can take it with you anywhere.
